Facilites

There's so much to offer

Burgmann College is situated on the ANU campus, just a 5-minute walk to the ANU Medical or Law School and a 10-minute walk to the main ANU Kambri area. The College features long stretches of lawn, large shady trees and gardens planted with beautiful foliage. There are many areas outside and inside that residents can use to relax or study. Residents can book rooms for use on campus.

Common Room

Situated on the ground floor of Barassi Wing, the common room houses a large television screen with Foxtel, DVD player and video recorder and a selection of comfortable couches.

There is also a pool and table tennis table that residents can use. The common room has floor to ceiling windows, tables and chairs allowing residents to enjoy a sunny study or recreational area during the day.

Le Chat Noir

Le Chat Noir Café & Bar is an important part of social life at Burgmann.

Set in the common room, it’s very popular and sells coffee, drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) and food.

This is run by the College and staffed by students. Footwear is mandatory in the café and bar area.

Computer Room

The Computer Room is in the Griffin Wing, opposite the Chapel/Lounge and contains 23 desktop stations.

This room is a designated quiet place with printing facilities.

Chapel

The Chapel is a large, airy space that contains a grand piano. 

It can be used as a music rehearsal area, meeting room and large study space.

Lounge

The Lounge adjoins the Chapel and is a large sunny room. 

A cosy and light filled room that contains sofas, a television and coffee making facilities.

Piano

Music Room

The music room houses an upright piano and is next to the computer room.  A smaller rehearsal space that provides a home to the many musicians onsite.

Residents Kitchen

The residents kitchen is a fully equipped kitchen that can be used by residents for small or large events. Use of this kitchen is free.

Hawker Room

The Hawker room is set in a quiet corner of the college with views to Sullivans Creek and Lake Burley Griffith. An ideal private and quiet study or meeting room with plenty of natural light.

Grenfell Price Room

This is a u-shaped study or meeting room with two distinct areas situated next to the dining hall.  It has a tranquil Japanese style garden and pond in the center with large floor length windows.

AR Maine Room

This is a quieter space with lots of natural light.  Great for study as well as meetings.

Tutorial Room

The tutorial room is a large study and meeting area with plenty of natural light and beautiful views over the internal courtyard. It can be divided in half as needed with a retractable full-length wall.

Dining Hall

The dining hall can be used as a space for study, meeting or events.  Its large windows provide a lovely exterior view with lots of natural light for residents.

Laundry Facilities

Homer & Barassi undergraduate accommodation wings have a laundry on each floor level with washing machines, dryers, ironing board and irons. 

Village residents use a large communal laundry room situated in a separate building.  There is no charge for use of Burgmann laundry facilities however residents must supply their own washing powder/liquid.

Bicycle Storage

A secure resident bicycle compound is available onsite as well as many general exterior bicycle racks.

Parking

The college has very limited resident parking areas onsite and it is necessary for all vehicles to have an ANU permit.  There are ANU permit parking areas close by to the college.
