Growing Future Leaders
We offer our residents the opportunity to balance academic study with the many other interests available to explore, whether they are intellectual, social, sporting, religious, political or artistic. The choices are for residents to pursue. Helping to run these events and activities are our Leadership Team.
Burgmann College offers its residents over 50 leadership positions, including:
- Residential Advisor Team
- Burgmann Residents Association (BRA)
- Burgmann Academic Support Network
- Gender, Sexuality and Education Advocates.

Governance Opportunities
Residents play an extraordinary role in the College’s governance, holding 11 of 32 positions on the Council and 3 of 10 positions on the Board of Management, with full voting rights.
This not only gives them a powerful role in making important decisions that affect them and their fellow residents but provides amazing opportunities in governance training for a future generation of leaders.
The residents who grasp these opportunities really rise to the challenge and show extraordinary personal development in their leadership skills within a short space of time.
