Alice Faulk's Story
Grateful to the Price family for their scholarship
I was born and raised in Cootamundra NSW and attended Sacred Heart Central School in Cootamundra and Kinross Wolaroi School in Orange.
I studied a Bachelor of Policy Studies and a Bachelor of International Relations at ANU. I began studying in 2016 and graduated in 2020. I was supported by the Price Scholarship in 2017.
Being from Cootamundra, if I wanted to attend university I had to move away from home.
Having access to financial assistance like the Price scholarship helped ease the financial strain of that decision. I'm tremendously grateful to the Price family for that.
Further, as a Price Scholar I gained access to a network of previous and subsequent Price scholars, many of whom came from similar backgrounds to myself and with whom I could share my experience of being a regional student at ANU. This was something I found incredibly valuable.
I am currently (2022) living in Alice Springs and working as a policy officer for the Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet.
