Burgmann College is delighted to share that Amelia Zaraftis has been appointed Director of Advancement at Burgmann College. Amelia has been a dedicated Deputy and Acting Principal throughout her five years with Burgmann. After a competitive recruitment process, Amelia emerged as the strongest and most impressive candidate, and we are excited to have her commence in this important role.
As Deputy Principal and Acting Principal, Amelia has helped shape Burgmann College through her strategic thinking, strong communication skills and through her ability to build strong relationships. Amongst many achievements, Amelia led the reopening of the College after the pandemic closure in 2020. Furthermore, Amelia led the College's development of our inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan.
'Since I first stepped foot in the College in 2016, I've been struck by the culture of this place and its purpose: to empower people to reach their highest potential,' Amelia said.
'I've loved being Deputy Principal and Acting Principal over the past five years, and it fills me with joy to step into this new role in the College’s 50th year, and to be looking ahead to the next 50 years and all that we can achieve together.'
We sincerely thank Amelia for her dedication and commitment to the Burgmann College community and look forward to this new chapter. As Director of Advancement, Amelia will lead the College's Alumni & Friends and Advancement programs.
