Burg Ball 2025: A Night in the Secret Garden

By Charlotte Taylor, 2025 O-Week Chair

On the 21st of August 2025, Burgmann College came together for one of the most anticipated events of the year. Residents, ex-residents, and their plus ones gathered for a night of music, dancing and celebration. Burgmann Ball was held at the stunning Gold Creek Station, a rustic and welcoming venue that has become a favourite for the Burgmann community. We are incredibly grateful to Craig [Starr] for hosting us on his property for the third year running and for providing such a generous and delicious food and drink package.

The theme for 2025 was A Night in the Secret Garden. Guests were greeted with fairy lights, candles, and a flower arch that created an enchanting atmosphere. A very special thank you goes to Fiona Nixon, whose help in sourcing fresh flowers brought the theme to life in the most beautiful way.

Entertainment was a highlight of the evening, with unforgettable performances from Fresher Pressure, BNO Band and the DJs, who kept the dance floor buzzing the whole night. Between sets, guests could enjoy warm donuts, slushies and take pictures in the photo booth. See photos below!

Organising the event was a true team effort. I had the privilege of chairing the committee, supported by 15 hardworking students who made the job an absolute joy. Their commitment and ideas ensured the night ran smoothly from start to finish.

It is always special when everyone gets dressed up and spends quality time together. It was a magical evening that showcased the very best of Burgmann spirit.
