Burgmann alumni Peter Garrett to speak on his new memoir at ANU

Burgmann alumnus Peter Garrett will speak at ANU on Wednesday, 4 November 2015 about his latest book, Big Blue Sky, a provocative, entertaining, impassioned, and inspiring memoir from the Midnight Oil frontman, environmental activist, and politician.

From his idyllic childhood growing up in the northern suburbs of Sydney, to an early interest in equality and justice, this memoir traverses the height of 1960s culture shock at ANU to his time as the only unaligned Cabinet minister in two Labor governments.

Peter Garrett will be joined in conversation by ABC Canberra radio presenter Alex Sloan to discuss issues including his lifelong mission to protect the environment and his connection with Aboriginal people.

Books will be on sale thanks to the University Co-Op bookshop. Signings will happen after the talk.

*A copy is available for borrowing from the Principal's EA to Burgmann Residents and Staff.
