Burgmann College is proud to announce the appointment of Sally Renouf as the Deputy Principal from 1 January 2014. Sally completed a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Politics at Monash University in 2009 majoring in French and Japanese. After a year in Paris and a stint volunteering as a paralegal in Melbourne, Sally relocated to Canberra in order to study law.
Sally came to ANU and Burgmann in the autumn of 2010 at the commencement of her Juris Doctor. Sally was the Residential Advisor for F-block for two years before taking on the role of Undergraduate Dean, and then Acting Deputy Principal, from 1 July 2013.
As Deputy Principal, Sally oversees the work of the residents who hold leadership positions. She also provides support to the Principal in the social and pastoral care of residents, as well as overseeing the academic network program. Living onsite with her partner, Brodie, the Deputy Principal compliments the already strong after-hours residential support staff.
When talking to Sally about why she wanted to continue at Burgmann she said, “I love my job, I love what I do. The College is such a vibrant community, filled with talented people it’s such a joy to come to work.” In summing up her passion for Burgmann and the role she plays here, she said, "There’s nothing more rewarding than watching the personal and academic development of residents over their time at Burgmann College and the ANU’.
Sally makes a great addition to one of the leading residential colleges in Australia, and the college is looking forward to her input and development over the next five years.
