Taryn Ahsing appointed Deputy Principal of Burgmann College

We are excited to announce that Taryn Ahsing has been appointed Deputy Principal of Burgmann College.

Taryn joined the Burgmann community as College Dean in September 2023, and has been Acting Deputy Principal since 1 February 2024.

Prior to joining Burgmann, Taryn was the Deputy Head at ANU student residence Yukeembruk; Student Wellbeing Advisor at the University of Canberra; and, Community Development Officer for the City of Rockingham, Perth. Taryn brings over 5 years’ experience in health promotion, community development and support services. Taryn holds a Bachelor of Preventive Health (Health Promotion) from the University of Notre Dame Australia and a Graduate Certificate in Counselling from Edith Cowan University.

Taryn and her partner, Burgmann Residential Fellow Matej (Mat) Stasak, live in the Village. Mat is also a graduate from the University of Notre Dame Australia, and works in Parliament House as an Adviser to the Minister for Resources and Northern Australia.

Taryn was selected after a rigorous and competitive process from a broad and highly qualified field of candidates.
