Please join us in welcoming four new staff members to Burgmann College.
We are delighted to introduce Monika Popovski, Neeve Byrne, Briege Exton, and Maxine Monus, each bringing a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our community.
Monika Popovski – Dean of Academic Programs and Employability
Monika joins us in the newly created role of Dean of Academic Programs and Employability, a position dedicated to enriching Burgmann’s intellectual life and strengthening the career readiness of our residents. She brings extensive experience from her leadership roles at The Women’s College (University of Sydney) and Wilam Hall (University of Melbourne), where she played a pivotal part in supporting pastoral care, postgraduate engagement, and student success.
Neeve Byrne – Wellbeing Coordinator
Neeve has already settled into her role as Wellbeing Coordinator, welcoming residents into her office for support across a range of wellbeing matters. Originally from Perth, she recently moved to Canberra after completing her Bachelor and Master of Counselling, and is excited to be part of the Burgmann community.
Briege Exton – Executive Officer to the Principal
Briege joins Burgmann in the newly established Executive Officer role. She brings a wealth of experience in Operations Management and Executive support, spanning private and higher education sectors. Briege will be closely working with Dr Brenda Holt to streamline our corporate governance and strategic and corporate communications.
Maxine Monus – Communications Officer
Maxine is the newest member of the Advancement team, stepping into the role of Communications Officer. She will be producing the Alumni & Friends newsletters, maintaining Burgmann’s social media presence alongside our Communications Interns, updating the website, and supporting a range of College communications. A proud Canberran, Maxine has a strong appreciation for all things local and is excited to champion Burgmann College.
We look forward to the many contributions and achievements of our new staff members as they enrich the Burgmann community.
