Euan Maclean's Mid-Year Report captures the beautiful contradiction that is life at Burgmann College. From lugging bar fridges up sweltering, un-air-conditioned stairwells during N-Week to dancing in the pouring rain at the St Patrick's Day mixer with Johns XXIII, Semester One has been anything but quiet.
A new artwork, woven from rivers, mountains, and the scents of Australia, now lines the entry walls, born from a leadership retreat where 50 students reflected on the country that formed them. Developed under the guidance of Noah Smith, Burgmann's inaugural Indigenous Representative, the piece sits alongside Kevin Rudd's 2008 Apology and asks something quietly profound of everyone who passes through: do you know your own country?
We are thrilled to share the new brand for Burgmann College. Honouring the foundations that have defined this community for over 55 years, our original crest remains at the heart of who we are: a symbol of the history, values and people that built Burgmann into the place it is today. Around it, we have contemporised our colours and typography to reflect where we are headed: a Burgmann positioned as the gold standard for residential colleges in Australia.
Nerrida has played a pivotal role in shaping the financial strength, operational excellence, and enduring success of Burgmann. Her stewardship has always been steady and considered, marked by expertise, tenacity, and a deep commitment to the College.
