55 Set to Thrive: Thank You

Thanking our 55 Set to Thrive supporters

This tax-time, while Burgmann celebrates 55 years since its founding, our community came together to make sure the next 55 are just as bright. We're delighted to share that our 55 Set to Thrive tax-time appeal raised over $55,000 — a genuinely fitting sum for our anniversary year, and a testament to the generosity of this community.

Among the highlights was our Name My Door initiative, which saw twenty new doors named across the College, each one a lasting tribute to the individuals, families, and memories that make Burgmann what it is.

We are so grateful to everyone who gave. Your gifts go directly toward the resident experience that sits at the heart of our strategy: the wellbeing programs and wrap-around pastoral care that help every resident navigate the challenges of university life, alongside the leadership opportunities, communal spaces, and infrastructure that make a Burgmann education truly transformational.

To every donor, near and far — thank you for embracing change and inspiring futures. Your support doesn't just fund a campaign; it shapes the lived experience of every resident who calls Burgmann home.

Fifty Doors and Counting: The Story So Far

Every named door at Burgmann tells a story, of a resident's journey, a life transformed, of friendships formed under one roof. This year, thanks to the generosity of our community, over 50 doors have now been named through our Name My Door initiative, with twenty new names added during our 55 Set to Thrive appeal alone. Our goal is to name 100 doors in this milestone year, and we'd love your help to get there. Read on to find out how you or someone you know can be part of this growing legacy.

Standout Moments in Sports | Semester 1, 2026

Semester 1 has been one to remember for Burgmann, with the college finishing 4th overall in Inter Hall Sport and flashing some genuine brilliance along the way. The standout moment came at the Road Relay Gala Day, where Burgmann crossed the line in first place – sweet redemption after missing the top spot in 2025. The Women's+ Touch Footy side made a thrilling run to the Grand Final, while Badminton and Oz Tag both claimed solid 3rd place finishes. Disc brought intensity and unexpected devotion from the first-year cohort. And with the Homer v Barassi rivalry perfectly poised at one win apiece, Semester 2 can't come soon enough!
