Burgmann welcomes Deputy Principal, Ms Cris Clucas

It’s with great pleasure we share the appointment of Ms Cris Clucas (she/her) to the role of Deputy Principal, commencing 12 May 2021.

Cris studied at ANU School of Art in the early 1990s and worked as a graphic designer for 10 years before moving to students support roles at ANU.

At ANU, Cris started the renowned Faces of The Australian National University Facebook page (@FacesofANU), giving students and academics a platform to tell their stories, for which she won the ANU award for Best Use of Social Media.

Cris is a talented musician and was part of the inaugural interhall staff band, ‘The Fun Police’, who performed at Big Night Out in 2019.

With previous experience as the Residential Life Manager at Wamburun Hall, Interim Head of John XXIII, Acting Deputy Head of Bruce Hall, and, most recently, supporting Burgmann as Wellbeing & Community Support Officer, Cris is uniquely placed to lead our community as Deputy Principal and we are so pleased to welcome her.

'I’ve admired the work done by residents and staff at Burgmann, especially regarding the College’s Reconciliation Action Plan,' says Cris.

'And now you have the 50th birthday celebration events—it’s going to be a very special year at Burgmann. I feel blessed to be able to experience it too and am looking forward to getting to know the community.'

Cris joins the residential staff of Burgmann, residing on site in the Village with her beautiful pug Esther.
