Burgmann residents win the Live Below the Line Challenge 2014

Congratulations to the 16 Burgmann Residents who participated in and won the ANU Interhall Live Below the Line 2014 competition! Burgmann also raised the most money among Australian colleges for the challenge, which involved eating on $2 a day for five days, which is the equivalent of the extreme poverty line.

The three top fundraising Colleges in Australia are as follows:

1) Burgmann College (ANU) raised $8,643

2) Burton and Garran Hall (ANU) raised $6,668

3) International House (University of Melbourne) raised $4,846

The College would like to thank and congratulate the following Residents for taking on a worthy challenge and winning the competition: James Connolly, Alice Lloyd, Isabel Wormald, Caitlin Magee, Isabella Sorby, Ben Skilton, Ebony Hoiberg, Isla Tobin, Dev Tiwari, Andrew Nilon, Alex Jowett, Erin Medway, Steph Baddock, Gabriella Imperial, Jacky Song and Josephine Chu.

Eleven Burgmann students were part of a 60-student-strong group of ANU students that ran 340km in under 24 hours from Canberra to Bondi to raise money and awareness for mental health organisation batyr Australia.
